The Redeemed Life
The gospel is not only good news because we are saved from sin, but also because we are saved to a new life in which we walk with Jesus. In this new life, God works in us to produce spiritual maturity, but we have a role in this work as well. We will never drift into spiritual maturity. It takes a daily commitment to submit to and walk with Jesus. The Redeemed Life is designed to keep us moving toward and growing up into Christlike maturity.
Faith in Christ is where the Christian life begins and obedience in Baptism should follow quickly after. This is where discipleship begins.
Membership is the natural next step for new believers as it provides the environment, accountability, and encouragement needed for discipleship to take place. Membership isn’t a one-time event but a continual responsibility to one another and the Lord.
Becoming like Jesus requires spending time with Jesus! Through Disciplines like prayer, Bible reading and memorization, giving, and evangelism, we draw near to Jesus. These and other Disciplines stoke our affections for Jesus and grow our knowledge of him.
The weekly Gathering is the church’s primary avenue for preaching and teaching the Word of God. We grow as we gather to learn, to worship, and to encourage one another.
Christians do not grow in isolation from one another. We were created for and we grow in Fellowship. As we gather in small groups and for life-on-life discipleship we find the encouragement we need to live for Jesus not just on Sundays, but every other day of the week too!
God has uniquely gifted every Christian, regardless of age or gender, for Christian Service. When the whole church uses its gifts for service, the whole church is strengthened and we imitate the example of Jesus’ selfless service.
A growing disciple is a Learning disciple. Our discipleship program works to equip God’s people to be life-long learners. It equips them with a firm grasp on sound doctrine and equips them with the skills to dive deeply into God’s Word on a daily basis.
