We believe that parents hold the most influence in a child's life and are called to be the primary disciplers of their children (Deut. 6:4-9; Eph. 6:4). Therefore, our Family Ministry exists to partner with parents in discipling their kids into lifelong Christians who exalt God, are equipped in the faith, and evangelize the lost.

We believe our kids and student ministries are great opportunities for your children to learn about God and His Word! We hope that your child's involvement in these ministries will spur on even more conversations at home about God and a personal relationship with Jesus!

Family Milestones
One of the ways we partner with parents is by celebrating Family Milestones!
Milestones signify important steppingstones in the spiritual development of a child. These are checkpoints for families to look back at God’s past faithfulness and forward to upcoming joys and challenges in a child’s growth. At these strategic points, RBC seeks to encourage and equip parents as the primary disciplers of their children by providing specific training and tools to help navigate these different stages in a child’s life.
Each milestone involves a 1-hour class involving discussion and teaching on various parenting topics followed by a celebration when a child takes his/her milestone step. After each milestone class, parents will receive a gift with helpful biblical parenting resources specific to the next developmental season of a child’s life.
Who Is It For: Parents of kids birth to 2 years old.
Goal: To encourage and equip parents to dedicate themselves to be the primary disciplers of their children, raising them to know and love God.
When: 1-hour class the week before Mother’s Day, child dedication during the Sunday service on Mother’s Day.
Topics Addressed: Child dedication, the role of parents and the church in discipling a child.
Who Is It For: Parents of kids entering Pre-K.
Goal: To encourage and equip parents to disciple their children by cultivating their child’s devotion to the Lord.
When: 1-hour class on the first Sunday of September.
Topics Addressed: Explaining the gospel, family devotions, cultivating spiritual disciplines, discipline in discipleship.
Who Is It For: Parents of kids entering 3rd grade.
Goal: To encourage and equip parents to disciple their children to use technology for God’s glory and their purity.
When: 1-hour class, date in the summer (set yearly).
Topics Addressed: Technology usage, pornography, the “sex talk”, dating.
Who Is It For: Parents of students entering 6th grade.
Goal: To encourage and equip parents to teach their children to root their identity in Christ during their teen years.
When: Redemption Students Promotion Night (Wednesday in September).
Topics Addressed: Identity in Christ, extracurricular activities, relationships.
Who Is It For: Parents of graduating high school seniors.
Goal: To encourage and equip parents to send out their children to live for the glory of God.
When: Redemption Students Senior Sendoff (Wednesday in June).
Topics Addressed: Holding fast to the gospel, involvement with a local church, living on mission for Christ.
Our Core Values
From the nursery to kids classes to youth group, our Family Ministry core values shape how we teach, lead, serve, and care for the next generation. They provide a consistent foundation across every stage, ensuring that every child and student is known, loved, protected, and equipped to follow Jesus.
Biblical Singing
Singing is the natural outflow of a heart that wants to worship God. We sing in order to praise God, instruct our hearts with truth from God’s Word, and encourage one another in the faith. (Col. 3:16)
Expositional Teaching
When Scripture speaks, God speaks. We teach lessons grounded in the Scriptures because this is the primary way we get to learn about God and from Him. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
Fervent Praying
Prayer is as essential for a Christian’s spiritual life as breathing is for one’s physical life. We spend intentional time in prayer to express our dependence on God as we adore Him, confess our sins, thank Him for our salvation in Christ, and submit our hearts to follow His will. (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
Gospel Centrality
The gospel is the good news of salvation in Jesus. The gospel is not merely something we accept once and move on from but is something which we forever get to dive deeper into. We strive to keep the gospel front and center in all that we do. (Heb. 10:23)
Love for the Local Church
The local church is God’s ordained institution for discipleship. Therefore, our kids and youth ministries are structured to support, but never replace, the local church. We encourage families to be meaningfully involved in the intergenerational life of the local church as Christians who are saved into Christ’s Body. (Heb. 10:24-25)
Missional Engagement
Jesus gave all Christians, regardless of age, a Great Commission to reach the world with the gospel message. Therefore, we encourage kids and students to adopt a “missions mindset” and take part in this calling by sharing the gospel in both word (evangelism in their spheres of influence) and deed (acts of service). (Matt. 28:18-20)
Partnership with Parents
Parents are the primary disciplers of their children’s spiritual formation. Therefore, RBC’s kids and student ministries exists to support (not subvert) a parent’s role in discipling their kids toward greater maturity in Christ. (Deut. 6:5-9)
Relational Discipleship
We believe that the Bible is best applied life on life. Our small groups exist to help kids and students grow in their relationships with one another while honestly applying God’s Word to their lives. Our weekly games and fun seasonal events are great opportunities for families to build relationships with one another while having fun. Groups that have fun together grow together. (2 Tim. 2:1-2)
Safety
We are committed to creating environments where every child, student, and family feels safe, welcomed, and cared for. We believe that providing a secure environment is an essential part of loving and serving others well. We prioritize the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of those entrusted to our care by maintaining clear policies, healthy boundaries, trained volunteers, and attentive leadership. (Phil. 2:4; 1 Thess. 5:22)
Welcoming Hospitality
The gospel message is for anyone regardless of race, ethnicity, social status, or gender. Therefore, we joyfully invite anyone to come and participate in our ministries on both Sundays and Wednesday nights. (Rom. 15:7)
Our Goals
With the Holy Spirit’s help, our goal is to see your child graduate high school as a healthy Christian living the Redeemed Life. This means they are a baptized born-again believer actively engaged in the biblical practices of...
Church Membership – They are those who have believed in Jesus, been baptized, and have covenanted with a local church body in church membership.
Personal Disciplines – They have habits of reading the Scriptures, prayer, and giving to the work of ministry.
Weekly Gathering – They actively gather with the local church to be nourished by God’s Word and other believers.
Fellowship – They have an older and mature mentor, peers in the faith, and those whom he/she is discipling.
Service – They are actively serving the local church body with their spiritual gifts and their community with the gospel.
Learning – They are growing in their understanding and implementation of the Bible, theology, and the biblical ethics.
