Have you ever felt like you had nothing to offer God? Or maybe that your life’s circumstances prevent you from fully serving the Lord? This was the feeling of many in Corinth. Whether it was their social, economic, or family circumstances, many in Corinth felt they were unable to fully serve the Lord.
1 Corinthians 7:17-24 is a gentle reminder that the Lord has sovereignly placed us exactly where we are a because of that we can be content with our station in life. Whether we are single or married, rich or poor, socially important or not, blue-collar or white-collar, we can fully serve the Lord. It’s not wrong to seek to better our station in life, but it is not ultimate. Serving the Lord is ultimate and you can do that no matter your station in life.
