After eight weeks we are finally back in 1 Corinthians and I am excited! And we will pick back up with the complex topic of marriage, divorce, and remarriage. Should you get married or remain single? Is divorce ever acceptable? What if my spouse divorced me? Then what do I do? Or maybe you were divorced and have since remarried. Should you feel guilty for that?
These are difficult questions, but thankfully, God’s Word has good answers for difficult questions. I encourage you to prepare for our time in 1 Corinthians 7:8-16 by reading the passage before our service. And also consider reading and reflecting on what the Bible teaches about marriage and divorce in other passages too (Deut. 24; Matt. 19; Mark 10).
